SHAKESPEAREíS SISTER, Swan 46

"Shakespeare's Sister," was purchased by her current owner last spring. He has entrusted JBY to deliver an almost completely refitted yacht since that time. In one year JBY will have completed the following tasks:

In Spring 2002, JBY mechanical department replaced the main engine with a Yanmar 75hp turbo engine. At that time the engine space insulation, running gear, and engine driven refrigeration system were replaced as well. New holding tanks, sanitation hoses, and heads were also fitted.

During the Winter of 2002-03, Our Paint & Glass department performed a complete osmosis repair to the hull, stripped and re-coated the appendages. The bilges and mast/keel metal framework were de-scaled and re-coated. The topsides, cabinhouse stripe, and ancillary hardware received fresh coats of Awlgrip.

JBY Carpentry Department has replaced the teak decks, and upgraded the deck hardware with new Harken equipment. The joinery in the navigation station is being modified for an extensive new electronics package supplied by Jamestown Electronics

Our Mechanical department will be upgrading and re-wiring the 110V, 220V, 24V wiring; replacing the batteries and re-vamping the charging systems. The stove has been replaced; the entire propane system upgraded to current ABYC standards, the steering cables replaced, and the Webasto heater repaired.

JBY riggers have replaced the entire rod rigging, and arranged for modifying the spreader-ends to accept modern Navtec Tip-Cup assemblies. A new Antal mainsail track has been fitted, the winches serviced, the windlass and ground tackle replaced. The Navtec hydraulic pump replaced, backstay and vang cylinders serviced. New lifelines are being made as well.
